A hands-on learning program for families and children led by Klamath County Cultural Coalition. Participants create their own personal field journal, add new entries each month, and receive a badge after completing that month's activity.
This geology-focused session teaches students about major geologic events that formed Crater Lake. Activities include mapping geologic events, identifying rock types including obsidian, pumice, and basalt, and taking field notes. All materials are provided.
For those unable to attend the scheduled session, activity supplies are available for pick-up at the Klamath County Museum Farmers' Market booth every Saturday throughout the season. Completed journals are invited for display at the museum's grand hall at season's end.
Suggested age range: 7 to 13
